Massage Therapy Continuing Education

21 CE contact hours, NCBTMB Provider # 451163-09
This course is designed to prepare the therapist to navigate and isolate superficial and deep myofascial tissue. The lecture is accompanied by computerized kinesiological animations to expand the therapist's knowledge of muscle fiber direction, agonist/antagonist relationships and strain patterns as they pertain to specific actions. The majority of this class is dedicated to mastering hands-on isolation and application techniques for superficial and deep muscles. Superficial layers are softened with an advanced cross fiber foundational stoke preparing to isolate deeper muscles. Once isolated, the focus shifts to layering corrective techniques. These techniques include site-specific deep transverse friction, displacement, stripping and fascial releases.
This "hands-on" course is designed for massage therapists working in both private and medical practices as well as spa settings. A cross fiber friction massage is an advanced foundational stroke to facilitates the body's healing processes to repair soft tissue damage, release adhesions, lessen acute or chronic pain and reduce the recurrence of chronic pain syndromes. Cross Fiber Friction Principles and Advanced Corrective Therapies, will allow therapists to assist their clients in reducing pain, increasing ease and range in motion and facilitate the body's ability to function efficiently.
You will leave this 3-day, hands on seminar with the skills to take these techniques immediately from classroom to your table.
